How does our hard drive destruction service work?

Remove and store securely

Once you have removed the hard drives from the PC, laptop or server in your own time, simply store them securely until collection.

Secure collection

On collection, we place your hard drive(s) into our lockable, fireproof, waterproof safe box sealed with a tamper-evident metal identity zip tie. The seal isn’t broken until its back at our warehouse for instant destruction.

three.

Destruction

Back at our warehouse, the zip tie is removed and each hard drive has a 2-inch hydraulic spike driven straight through it, permanently rendering the drive — and any data on it — unreadable and unrecoverable.

four.

Recycling

Destroyed hard drives are then recycled to recover valuable materials, including aluminium, neodymium, gold, silver and platinum.

Full documentation

You’ll receive a waste transfer note, a certificate of destruction once your hard drives have been processed, and a paid invoice — giving you a complete compliance record.
