About Morris
Tech Recycling
Trusted family-run computer and tech recycling
Why choose us to handle your tech waste?
Secure Collections
Our professional, tracked vans feature onboard CCTV and lockable bodies, operated by uniformed, DBS-checked staff who never use subcontractors.
Guaranteed Data Destruction
We ensure total peace of mind through rigorous physical hard drive destruction (using heavy-duty mechanical pressing) or enterprise-grade cryptographic wiping, followed by a full paper trail and compliance documentation.
Environmental Commitment
We love the outdoors—whether camping, walking, mountain biking, or fishing—and treat protecting our local environment as a basic necessity, aiming to maximize recycling and minimize landfill waste.
Licences and insurance
WEEE Registration and Data Destruction
We’re not directly WEEE registered ourselves — the deconstruction and recycling side of our process is carried out by our trusted partners who hold the necessary AATF (Authorised Treatment Facility) registration. We hold the required full Environment Agency Waste Carrier licence, which covers collection, transport, and secure on-site data destruction.
All data-sensitive hard drives are removed and destroyed at our own premises — either physically punctured beyond recovery or wiped to enterprise-grade cryptographic standards — before anything leaves our hands. Once your data is confirmed destroyed, the remaining equipment and components are passed on to WEEE-registered specialist recyclers (an approved Authorised Treatment Facility) for final breakdown and material recovery, extracting valuable metals and processing plastics for reuse.
We think this is the right structure for a small, local team: we focus on what matters most to our customers — secure collection and guaranteed in-house data destruction — while final WEEE-compliant processing is handled by a dedicated specialist facility built for exactly that job.
Every item is tracked from collection through in-house destruction to final recycling, so you always have full visibility of where your data and your old tech end up.
Are we ISO accredited?
- We already work to a high standard: ISO standards largely boil down to common-sense, professional business practices. We naturally operate to that level every single day because it’s the right way to run a business.
- It’s expensive: Certification comes with hefty fees. If you already maintain high standards, paying for a badge just means passing those extra costs on to your customers for no real benefit.
- Continuous quality beats annual audits: ISO audits check your processes at the start and then every year or so. What happens in between inspections is anyone's guess. We believe in maintaining high standards all year round, not just when an auditor is due.
What standards do we actually work to?
- Uniformed staff carrying ID badges
- All staff are fully DBS checked
- In-house training to ensure the best possible service
- Modern vans fitted with trackers, onboard cameras, alarm systems, and lockable, sign-written bodies
- Fully alarmed warehouses monitored by CCTV
- No subcontractors—we handle your collections ourselves from start to finish
- Flexible arrangements: we can offer commercial contracts if needed, but we mostly work on a straightforward ad-hoc basis
- Fast data destruction: all data-sensitive hard drives are removed and destroyed within 24 working hours of arriving at our premises
- Responsible processing: everything we collect enters the proper recycling stream
- Comprehensive insurance: £5,000,000 public liability cover, £10,000,000 employers' liability, and up to £1,000,000 professional indemnity cover
- Full documentation: a waste transfer note, data destruction certificate, and a detailed VAT invoice are issued for every collection
- Health & safety policies, risk assessments, and safe operating procedures are always available on request
Recycling and destruction of your waste
- Your waste has a full paper trail from collection all the way to final destruction
- Hard drives are securely wiped or destroyed depending on whether they can be reused. If you specifically require physical destruction, just let us know when booking
- All other components are sent to specialist recycling streams for material recovery or reuse
- We plan efficient driving routes to minimise fuel usage and wear and tear on our vans
Our commitment
Our goal is simply to provide a reliable, cost-effective service while protecting the environment.
We completely understand if your company policy strictly requires an ISO-accredited supplier. If that’s the case, we’re still more than happy to help out with specific parts of your recycling needs rather than the whole process.
I hope this gives you a bit of insight into how we operate.
Kind regards,
Ben
